Featured Car of May 2000
Dave & Liz's '93 LX

1993 was the last year for the Fox-body Mustang. Ford produced 114,228 examples in 3 body styles: coupe, hatchback and convertible. This beautiful Vibrant White convertible belongs to David Clem and Liz Daniel, our club's president and secretary.

The car is a LX 5.0L model. From the factory, it was equipped with all of the standard LX features (power windows, locks and mirrors, remote trunk release) as well as leather articulated sport seats, driver's 4-way power seat, air conditioning, compact disc player and convenience group. The 5.0 liter engine channels it's power through an AOD-E automatic overdrive transmission to the 3.27 Traction-Lok differential. This 'Stang still rides on it's factory "Pony" rims with Goodyear Eagle tires.

As is the case with many, if not most, Mustangs, this one has been personalized by it's owner. When purchased from Beryl Blackstone at Frontier Ford in Anacortes in February 1999, the car was bone stock with only 36,000 miles. In the last 15 months it has logged over 20,000 miles as a daily driver. During that time, a few modifications have taken place. The first item added was a Flowmaster Force-2 exhaust system. This exhaust with it's 2 ½ inch stainless steel pipes gives a very nice sound and look to the car. Next up was a set of Ford Racing Performance Parts shorty headers, a FRPP strut tower brace and a Summit Racing cold air induction set-up. The last mechanical mod to be performed was the upgrade to a 3-row radiator to keep things cool and allow for further mechanical changes down the road. Cosmetically the only change has been to remove the luggage rack from the trunk deck. Burlington Collision took a lid from a 1989 coupe and made it look like it came on the car from the factory.

All in all, this car is pleasure to drive in any weather but Dave and Liz are looking forward to a long, sunny summer with the top down. Look for "WYTHORS" at the Mustang Round-up in July. It will be in the judged show, modified category.
