Buying a '65 Fastback

[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ ICMC Discussion Board ] [ FAQ ]

Posted by Jim Parker (63.193.68.1) on Jan 04, 2025 at 17:25:05:

Thinking about buying a 1965
Mustang Fastback or something
similar (65-69 fastbacks). I
don't know squat about
mustangs. What are the main
things I should look for as a
buyer? How do I determine if
the #'s match and what a car
might be worth, generally
speaking of course. Is there
a site or source that gives a
general idea of what a
mustang is worth?

This car is 65 fastback 2+2,
red, w/ red/white interior,
289 4bl, auto, looks pretty
nice, some scratches in red
paint, interior okay. No
visible rips or anything, low
miles on rebuilt motor. Some
rust in trunk where trunk
floor & wheel well meet. Hole
is size of quarter. Guy wants
$6500 firm for it. California
car all it's life. Will have
my Mechanic inspect...seem
like a good deal? Looking to
get a quick education in what
to look out for, what's hot,
etc. so I can determine good
deals when I see them.

Thanks,
Jim
