convertible top cut

Just recently my convertible
top on my mustang was cut
with a knife. Someone
attempted to steal it from my
yard. I only had liability
insurance so I will have to
replace the top myself.
However, in the mean time I
will need a temporary repair
to keep the elements out. I
was wondering is there such a
thing as patching a
convertible top? If so, then
where can I go to get it
done? Is it possible to do
it myself?

Thanx for any help you can
give me
